An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure
Be The Solution, Inc. was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2007 by Gerry and Tim Phipps due to their concern about the growing pet overpopulation problem in Tallahassee. They were constantly finding stray animals wherever they went and would either keep them as their own pets or find a home for them. Gerry then had the thought that: “If more people would get their pets fixed we could stop the problem from the start by reducing the number of unwanted litters born in our community”. Since then, Be The Solution has spayed and neutered more than 65,000 pets and helped keep countless more off the streets or euthanized in shelters.

Thanks to the help of our generous vet partners, and an increase in awareness about the benefits of spay and neuter, we have seen a direct correlation between the number of animal intakes into the shelter and the number of animals Be The Solution has helped fix.

Our Clients
Each time we issue a voucher, Be the Solution takes the time to explain the costs that are shared to provide this valuable service. For those clients who receive public assistance such as Food Stamps, Medicaid or Disability, they have a $5.00 copay as their contribution towards the cost of the surgery for their pet. For clients who are not on any form of public assistance, their co-pay is $30.00 per cat and $40.00 per dog. Not surprisingly some of our clients have turned into donors once they are on their feet again.
Support Our Cause
Join Be the Solution in our mission to end pet overpopulation and prevent the cycle of suffering for unwanted pets living in shelters and on the street by giving a one-time gift or by becoming a sustaining member of our Spay/Neuter a Month Club.
